While we service any brand we only recommend and sell IBM computers. Our experience has proven over and over that IBM builds computers that stand the test of time. We can confidently say that we have never had a major breakdown of any IBM system we have ever had experience with and IBM computers are competitively priced with the product lines of their key rivals.

What is a Refurbished Computer?

Refurbished computer equipment is made available by Grades: A, B and C. All IBM Equipment that we sell uses "Commercial Grade" components, not consumer grade. This is one of the main reasons we are comfortable in fully recommending refurbished computers to our customers.

Almost without exception they are "off lease" units, normally between one and three years old. The equipment is used however, all Grade A and Grade B components are thoroughly tested by an authorized IBM technician to ensure that it is fully functional. Components that do not meet the highest operating standards are replaced without question. Once testing is complete, the product is cleaned to the industry's highest appearance standards.

Grade B units are fully functional but contain minor cosmetic imperfections that do not affect the performance of the computer. Grade A computers do not have such flaws and look, for all intents and purposes, new. While even greater savings can be achieved by more advanced computer users, we do not sell Grade C equipment unless it is specifically requested.

Upgrades and Options

We can change the configuration of a computer to meet your requirements. For example, if you would like a CD Burner versus a CD ROM or a modem for either dial up internet access or faxing, just call us and we will calculate the price difference for you.

If you had something completely different in mind to that which is listed above just call or write and we can have either a new or refurbished custom IBM computer built to the specifications you require.

Warranty

All computers and equipment come with a full ONE YEAR parts and labour warranty. Tata Computers will repair or replace (at it's sole discretion) any products or components found to have failed through normal use. An extended warranty option is available at the time of the original purchase. Ask for details.

New products come with the manufacturer's original guarantee and are serviced by their own warranty system.

Operating Systems

Computers that we sell come with the Windows XP or Windows 2000 Operating System. In order to further reduce the cost of a computer we can sell a unit without an operating system if you currently own original installation disks from another computer (and are not going to reuse the old computer). Please contact us to discuss this option and the potential savings.

Manuals do not come with computers (unless otherwise indicated) but can usually be downloaded from the IBM website at no charge.
